5: THE CAMPAIGN GROUP.

5:1:1: The Fordyce Forum is a tenant action group for the Fordyce Estate in Hemlington, Middlesbrough, Cleveland.

5:1:2: There is such a wealth of common feeling regarding the poor quality housing and layout of the estate that the tenants formed a campaign group with the aim of improving the quality of life and the community spirit by acquiring the funding needed to redevelop the estates properties.

5:1:3: In particular the group of "No-Fine" properties desperately need the problems in this report correcting.

5:1:4: See the front cover for the Fordyce Forum logo, designed by Adam Clenaghan (Chairperson of the Fordyce Forum).

5:2: There is a flexible approach as regarding each members role within the campaign group as each member has a number of skills that can be used to run the group as a whole.

5:3: The campaign group discuss and communicate regularly to decide on what actions to take in the campaign for funding on behalf of the tenants from the estate.

5:4: The campaign group inform their own estate residents via; the regular Forums, news letters and word of mouth.

5:5: Representatives of the Forum meet regularly with Council staff to discuss solutions to any problems on the estate.

5:6: Section 16 funding has been applied for and if allowed the tenants have decided to allow Banks of the Wear Community Housing Association to help them decide on the best form of tenant participation.
